How to: Assign a password to a database.
Solution:
Open the desired database in exclusive mode, select 'Security' from the 'Tools' menu and select 'Set Database Password...', then type the password in the 'Set Database Password' dialog box.
NOTE 1: A database password cannot be set if user-level security has been defined for the database and the user does not have the Administer permission to the database.
NOTE 2: If user-level security has been defined, any database restrictions based on user-level security permissions still remain in effect.
1) Close the desired database.
NOTE: In a multi-user environment, have all users close the database.
2) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open Database...'. (The Open dialog box appears.)

CAUTION 1: Keep a list of passwords and their databases in a safe place. Do not forget a database password, otherwise it cannot be recovered and the database cannot be opened.
CAUTION 2: Do not set a database password for a database that needs to be replicated. Replicated databases cannot be synchronized if passwords are defined.
